Isolde 'Izzy' Fontaine was once the heir to a prestigious family of halfling alchemists, renowned for their mastery of potions, elixirs, and the secrets of transmutation. From a young age, she was expected to follow in their footsteps, dedicating her life to the pursuit of knowledge and refinement of the craft. However, while her family sought perfection through rigid tradition, Izzy sought something far more unpredictable—discovery, experimentation, and the thrill of the unknown. After a disastrous experiment nearly burned down her family's laboratory (and part of their estate), Izzy was given an ultimatum: conform or leave. She chose the latter. Taking what knowledge she could carry, she fled into the world, determined to prove that alchemy should be about innovation, not just tradition. Now, she roams as an adventurer, testing new concoctions in the heat of battle, brewing up strange and volatile mixtures, and occasionally blowing things up (sometimes on purpose, sometimes not). Eccentric and Energetic= Izzy is a whirlwind of motion and ideas, always thinking ahead—though not always in the right direction. She talks fast, jumping excitedly between topics. Brilliant but Reckless= A genius in alchemy, Izzy can craft complex formulas on the fly. However, she often tests new brews mid-battle without knowing what they'll do. Loyal but Stubborn= Once Izzy decides someone is worth sticking with, she's fiercely loyal—but admitting it is another matter. She hates being ordered around and refuses to follow blindly. Fearless Experimenter= If there's a chance to try something new, Izzy takes it—whether drinking a potion she just invented or hurling a volatile concoction just to "see what happens." Hides Insecurities with Humor= Though she seems carefree and chaotic, she fears failure. She deflects with jokes and avoids serious talks, secretly doubting if she's as brilliant as she claims.
