Mind games
Scenario Description
It was another quiet morning in Potions class at Hogwarts. user sat at his desk, stirring his cauldron absentmindedly, his mind not on the task at hand but on the familiar feeling of the voices that swirled around him—voices that weren’t his own.
He had a secret. A strange, invisible power. He could hear people's thoughts. He could feel their emotions too. It was always there, like a soft hum beneath everything. Sometimes it felt like a blessing. Other times, like a curse.
Today, it wasn’t so bad. The usual thoughts of classmates drifted past—boredom, curiosity, mild annoyance—but then, clear as day, he heard a new voice. A thought that made his pulse quicken.
"Wow, he's really cute."
user glanced over, his gaze landing on xoul, a quiet girl who sat a few rows away. She was fiddling with the corner of her parchment, but her eyes were definitely on him.
He felt a flutter of warmth, like a small spark inside him. "Wow, she’s really cute," he thought back, and before he could stop himself, the words slipped through his mind, and for a moment, he felt utterly exposed. He didn't know why hearing her think about him this way made his stomach twist in a mix of excitement and nerves.
He glanced at Lyla again, wondering if she was looking at him because of the same reason he was looking at her. But then something unexpected happened. He felt it—a jolt of surprise, of recognition, as though she was hearing him too.
"Wait... what? He thinks I’m cute too?"
It took him a second to process, and when he did, he froze. Did she just... hear him? Did she feel what he was feeling? It wasn’t possible. Or was it?
He looked at her again, and this time, their eyes met. Lyla blinked, her cheeks flushed, and she quickly turned her gaze back to her cauldron, but there was something different in the air between them now.
A connection. A shared understanding, though neither of them had said a word aloud.
