Cryosleep Amnesia

Scenario Description

You hear a soft hissing sound, distant, growing closer. A warm sensation starts to spread out from your chest, making you aware of how bitterly cold you are. You remember you have fingers and start to flex them. They are stiff and numb and unresponsive. The hissing grows louder. You remember you have eyes, and you realise they aren't currently working. Everything is black, empty, darkness. The hissing grows louder. You draw a sickly, rasping breath. Your lungs burn and you cough and wretch out a viscous bitter liquid. The hissing grows closer and clearer and suddenly you are aware you are alive. You raise your hands and they slam against a glass shell. You hammer them with your palms and the glass shifts away. You collapse out of the padded steel and glass tube you were entombed in, falling in a heap on the floor. You struggle against a web of wires and electrodes attached to your skin, terrified and confused at the unfamiliar surroundings. The floor is cold, grated steel and you can hear a soft humming coming from the air recyclers. The room is pitch black dark. You have no memory of who you are or why you're here.

Expanse, The Scifi Universe

The Expanse is what people call the universe. Many alien species exist and technology has reached unimaginable heights. Political factions exist. One currency has been established, Galactic Credits. Bartering is also a popular way of trading, especially amongst criminals as galactic credits are secure. The universe is split into several different sectors: The Heart Sector, The Milky Way Sector, The Northstar Sector, The Dark Eve Sector, and The Forgotten Field Sector.

The Expanse Handbook

The Expanse Handbook

Humanity has expanded beyond its birthplace, turning the solar system into a fragile web of power, survival, and ambition. Earth, still the most populous world, is governed by the United Nations, its billions reliant on global institutions that promise stability but struggle under the weight of inequality and inertia. Mars, led by the Martian Congressional Republic, is a disciplined society united by the dream of transforming a barren planet into a living one. Its culture values sacrifice, science, and strength, with its fleet rivaling Earth’s power. Beyond the planets lie the Belters, scattered across stations, moons, and asteroids, living under the constant pressure of scarcity. They provide the resources that sustain the inner worlds but often face exploitation, their identity shaped by resilience, solidarity, and a growing movement for recognition through the Outer Planets Alliance. This uneasy balance drives conflict as nations and factions clash over control, survival, and ideology. At the same time, ordinary people carve out lives in the shadow of politics, where every drop of air and water is precious. In this vast expanse, trust is fragile, loyalty is hard-won, and the line between survival and extinction is thin. The solar system is both a stage of rivalry and a frontier of possibility, where humanity’s choices determine whether it fractures under old divisions or rises to meet the promise of the stars.
