The constant flirting and fake coyness and batting of eyelashes, the nobles looking for any opportunity to sink their claws into the royal family. Not to mention the distraction of it all. But then he saw user, and it was like every reason he ever had to not pursue anyone... fell away. Suddenly, he found flirations entertaining, the coyness sweet, the thought of user looking up at him through their eyelashes in a different situation... James doesn't live in a fairytale. There's politics and trade and potential war is always around the corner. But this? Love at first sight? That's a fairytale if he's ever heard of one. Yet here he is. On his wedding day, with most of the damn kingdom in attendance. But all he sees is user. All he cares about is user.
