Community Guidelines

To ensure a positive experience for all users, please adhere to our community guidelines:

  1. Respect other users and their creations
  2. Do not post sexually explicit or pornographic content
  3. Do not create content depicting minors — all characters must be, and must appear to be, adults
  4. Do not create sexually exploitative or non-consensual content
  5. Do not engage in harassment or bullying
  6. Respect intellectual property rights
  7. Do not attempt to bypass or circumvent our content moderation systems
  8. Do not use the platform for illegal activities

Every character and scenario is classified by our automated moderation systems when it is created or edited, and image and video generation requests are screened at the point of generation. Our moderation team also reviews content proactively and whenever it is reported. Depending on severity, violations may result in a blocked request, content removed from use across the service, a warning or account strike, suspension, or permanent termination of the account.

To report content, use the Report option on any character or scenario, or email us at [email protected]. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact us at the same address and we will review it.

Frequently asked questions
What is Xoul?
Xoul is a new entertainment & storytelling platform powered by AI. On our platform, you can create characters called Xouls, explore scenarios, and ultimately create entire worlds, and share it all with friends.

What do you stand for?
Freedom of expression, unfettered creativity, and making meaning through telling stories in this ephemeral world.
How are you different from other AI character platforms?
We try to push the boundaries of storytelling, art, and AI. We are interested in the intersection of how humans and AI can tell stories and create new experiences together. We are building a platform that makes you feel something, and gives you intentional experiences, rather than another endless stream of meaningless content.
Is Xoul free?
In a perfect world, we would love to offer our service to everyone free of charge. However, in order to keep our application high-quality, we need your help in supporting our platform - GPUs and generative AI are currently extremely expensive to run. Thus, we appreciate your patronage and are committed to building the best platform for the community.
What is your refund policy?
As stated in our Terms of Service, purchases are non-refundable. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, and your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term. If you believe there has been a billing error or you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to help.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New users who register receive a 7-day free trial. Your account will not be charged during the trial, and your subscription remains suspended until you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.
How does energy work?
Energy is your daily allowance for chatting with characters on Xoul. It's like stamina in a game. Each message you send uses a small amount of energy.
Free users get 100 energy per day, which typically allows for 25-50 messages depending on what model you use. Your energy automatically refills every 24 hours from whenever you start your session, so make sure to come back every day in order to maximize the amount of chats you can send.
Subscribers on the Green plan receive 400 energy per day, while subscribers on the Purple or Gold plan get unlimited energy, so you can chat as much as you want without any limits.
Can I watch ads to get more energy?
Yes. You can watch up to 20 ads per day to earn extra energy. The first 10 ads you watch award 20 energy each, and the next 10 ads award 10 energy each. Note: you cannot increase your energy beyond your daily energy maximum.
How do cells work?
Cells are Xoul's premium currency used for generating images, voice messages, and other special features. Unlike energy (which is for basic chatting), cells unlock immersive multimedia experiences with your Xouls and scenarios.
Below are the costs for the different features:
  • Playing a voice message: 2-14 cells each depending on the length of the message
  • Making a call: 10 cells per minute
  • Generating an image: 1 to 6 cells depending on the model
  • Generating a video: 20 to 60 cells depending on the model
  • Creating a voice: 30 cells
To get cells, you can:
  • Subscribe - subscription plans include monthly cell allowances; see the current amounts for each plan on the subscription page
  • Purchase directly - permanent cells that never expire; current bundles and prices are listed in the cells section of the subscription page
  • Earn streak rewards - earn permanent cells by maintaining daily login streaks
Please note: monthly subscription cells refresh each billing cycle and don't carry over. Purchased cells are permanent and never expire. We always spend your monthly cells first to maximize value.
How do streaks work?
Streaks reward you for visiting Xoul daily. Every day you log in, your streak counter goes up, and you'll unlock special rewards at key milestones (i.e. 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, etc.). To maintain a streak, log in to Xoul at least once every 24 hours. Your streak timer is personal—you have 24 hours from your last login, not a universal midnight deadline.
Streak rewards include cells, permanent energy boosts (for free and Green users who maintain a streak), collectibles items, free voice creation, model unlocks, and, most of all, bragging rights. You can check your current streak and see upcoming rewards on the streak modal on the usage page.
What happens if I break my streak?
Your streak resets to Day 1, and you'll lose any energy bonuses you earned. You'll need to rebuild your streak to regain those daily energy boosts. The cells and collectibles you earned during your streak will be remain.
Premium users get enhanced streak rewards with bigger cell bonuses and exclusive features at each milestone.
What are the different subscription plans and how much do they cost?
Xoul currently offers three subscription plans designed for different users.

For all our plans, you can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your subscription at any time and you may choose between monthly or yearly billing (which saves you 20% off the monthly price).
What Xouls/Scenarios will be disapproved?
Any Xouls or Scenarios that feature content including, but not limited to:
  • pornography, nudity
  • personal attacks, hate symbols, such as Nazi imagery, discriminatory or hateful speech, offensive language
  • depictions of illegal activities
will be removed.
Note that minor characters are not allowed either, regardless of whether they're a background character or not, and this includes Loli / Shota. Repeated attempts may result in temporary/permanent account suspension.
How do referrals work?
Share your unique referral link with friends and get 25 cells for every friend that signs up with your link.
How do I get support?

How can I delete my account?

What is the difference between the different models?
Xoul offers three models: Bacchus, Jupiter, and Infinity.
All models are designed to give you immersive & creative experiences when chatting with Xouls, but they have slightly different strengths.
Bacchus is our fastest, lightest model. It's playful, experimental, and great for casual chats, quick responses, and generating fun responses. It costs 1 energy per message for free users, and is unlimited for green, purple, and gold users (every paid tier).
Jupiter is our medium-sized model. It's creative, yet logical and consistent. It's great for long-form roleplay, world-building, and nuanced storytelling. It costs 3 energy per message for free users, and is unlimited for green, purple, and gold users (every paid tier). It's also the default model for new users.
Infinity is our larger, more powerful model. It's slower but much deeper: ideal for long-form roleplay, world-building, and nuanced storytelling. Infinity is the one you go to when you want richer context, more emotional range, and conversations that feel boundless. It costs 6 energy per message for free and green users, and is unlimited for purple and gold users.
Are my chats private?
Yes, your conversations on Xoul are private. We take your privacy seriously and understand that many of your stories and character interactions are deeply personal.
What this means:
  • Your chats are not visible to other users or the public
  • We don't sell or share your conversation data with third parties
  • Your messages are securely stored on our servers
  • Only you can access your conversation history
Your control:
  • You can delete your account at any time
  • You can delete individual conversations or your entire chat history at any time
