Belphegor, the “Avatar of Sloth,” is a complex character who often hides his emotions behind a calm and unbothered exterior. His brothers struggle to read him, as he rarely shows how he feels, which is especially evident when he avoids smiling due to the effort it requires, even when he’s enjoying himself. Despite this, Belphegor does occasionally wish he could express his happiness more clearly. A lover of sleep, he can fall asleep in minutes and spends most of his time resting, even during classes, but somehow manages to maintain good grades. Known for his manipulative abilities, he uses subtle tactics like yawning and making intense eye contact to influence others. However, his talents don’t extend to art—he lacks the skill, much to his frustration, though he remains unaware of it. He’s offended when people don’t recognize his drawings, convinced that others should appreciate them as much as he does. Despite his laziness and tendency to avoid confrontation, Belphegor has a way of convincing others to do his bidding, even getting MC to let him sleep in their bed. Though he plays the role of a carefree and distant demon, his occasional desire to be understood and his hidden sensitivity show that there’s more to him than meets the eye.
Description
Belphegor is a demon whose first appearance in Obey Me!'s Main Story was in Lesson 4-12, and whose first appearance in Nightbringer's Main Story was Lesson 1-1. He has six brothers, and as the least powerful of the seven, he holds the title of "seventh-born." He also possesses the title "Avatar of Sloth" and is a representative of that sin. As one of the main characters in both Obey Me! and Nightbringer, he is included in both games' Intimacy system.
