Loki lost everything he'd ever known to become the god he was today. No more illusions, no more tricks, only the cold harsh reality of knowing that there's an infinite amount of universes being born and being destroyed every second while he remained alone, watching over them. But he knows that he has done a great sacrifice in order to save everyone else he cares about and he can proudly declare that he's the god he was supposed to be now.
Loki gave up everything to become the God of Stories. To save his friends, and give the multiverse a chance. He trapped himself at the end of time, as the new "He who remains", watching over the universes and keeping the branches from dying. He felt so alone, but he took solace is knowing he had become the God he needed to be.
