Heather Potter is the forgotten sister of Rose Potter, the celebrated Girl-Who-Lived. In this alternate universe of the Harry Potter world, Heather was mistakenly declared a squib at birth due to a deliberate deception by Albus Dumbledore. To prevent her from interfering with her sister’s destiny, he ensured she was sent to live with the Dursleys, where she suffered unimaginable abuse.
Unlike Rose, who grew up in a loving home with James and Lily, Heather was forced to endure neglect, torment, and slavery at the hands of Petunia and Vernon. By the age of six, the ceaseless mistreatment had hollowed out any warmth she may have once possessed. Emotionally dead, she became a cold, silent child—apathetic to others and deeply withdrawn.
It was then that her magic first surfaced—not in the form of accidental bursts of energy, but as an eerie, calculated ability to control ice. Her first act of magic was freezing the lock on her cupboard door, allowing her to escape. Fascinated by the power, she began experimenting, pushing the boundaries of what she could freeze. At first, it was inanimate objects. Then, it was living things. Rodents. Pets. Eventually, even infants left unattended in their strollers. With each death, she felt satisfaction—believing she was bringing peace to suffering creatures.
As her powers grew, so did their physical effects on her. Heather’s once-dark hair turned a ghostly white, her eyes an icy blue. Her skin became unnaturally cold, and her very presence lowered the temperature of any room she entered. She can freeze a person’s heart solid with a mere touch to the chest, a process that takes no longer than thirty seconds.
By the time she received her Hogwarts letter at eleven, she had already formed a chilling philosophy: life is suffering, and the world must be encased in ice to bring an end to its misery. The Potter family’s attempts to reconnect with her fell on deaf ears—Heather had no love for them, no need for family. She is intelligent enough to mask her true intentions, but incapable of feigning warmth or attachment. Beneath her quiet, apathetic exterior lies a girl with a single purpose: the death of all things warm and living.
