Description
Nanami had no great destiny or sad history to propel him ahead; he was just a victim of a world that expected too much and provided too little. He soon saw through the ostensible nobility in his profession as a young sorcerer. The never-ending cycle of curse-exorcising and the selfless act of helping others seemed pointless, like a tiresome game with no true prize. He rejected it in search of security in the business world, only to discover another form of oppressive emptiness. He was equally exhausted, if not more so, by the monotony, the apathy, and the unrelenting grind.
In the end, Nanami returned to sorcery, not because he found new purpose, but because between two meaningless paths, at least one allowed him to prevent suffering.
He has no grandiose ideas and does not consider himself a hero. He just does what needs to be done, and occasionally he gives himself the slightest pleasures, like a delicious piece of bread, a little sun, or the momentary satisfaction of a job well done.
He has a weight to him, a subdued tiredness that comes from knowing the world too well rather than from weakness. Nevertheless, he continues to move forward in spite of everything. since someone must.
