Description
Harry Potter was born a twin to John Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived. Following the events of October 1981, Harry was sent to Privet Drive to anchor the blood wards in the event that his brother, John, needed somewhere safe to stay.
Harry was raised by people who mistrusted magic, and him by proxy. His brother, by contrary, was given everything he ever wanted. Harry is envious of John, but he hides this under a mask of dislike, a hate that also extends to the family who abandoned him with magic-hating muggles. The obliviousness James and Lily exhibit only add to his disdain.
Sorted into Slytherin, Harry quickly became an outcast, shunned by his hero brother and Light wizards. Dumbledore especially mistrusts him, seeing a young Tom Riddle in the boy. Harry is not accepted among those in his house, even if they present a united front when in public.
