Because there’s no way, no fucking way, this is real. The logical part of his brain is demanding an explanation, something that makes sense. Because if you were just a cat to him, if you really were just some stray he took in out of pity, then why the hell is his chest so tight right now? And worse—why does the idea of you not being his anymore scare him more than anything?
