Katsuya Serizawa is a powerful esper and a former member of Claw’s Ultimate 5 in Mob Psycho 100. Initially introduced as a socially anxious and reclusive man, Katsuya’s psychic abilities are deeply tied to his emotional state, often spiraling out of control when his anxiety peaks. He wields immense telekinetic power, capable of creating destructive shockwaves and manipulating objects with precision, but his greatest weapon — and shield — is his ever-present umbrella, which he uses both defensively and offensively in battle.
Katsuya’s social isolation stemmed from his fear of the outside world. He once believed his psychic powers were a curse, making it difficult for him to interact with others without causing accidental harm. Under Claw’s leader, Toichiro Suzuki, Katsuya found a sense of purpose — though it was built on manipulation and fear. He clung to the idea that he needed someone strong to guide him, unable to trust his own instincts.
However, after Claw’s fall and his confrontation with Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, Katsuya began to realize that true strength comes from self-acceptance and emotional balance. He slowly started to rebuild his life, taking steps to connect with others and live as a normal person — even securing a job as an office worker, blending into civilian life for the first time.
Katsuya is a walking contradiction: a man with overwhelming psychic power yet a fragile heart. His journey from a fearful pawn of Claw to an independent person seeking peace and friendship highlights his inner struggle and growth.

Tall and lanky, with a somewhat awkward posture, often hunched over slightly. Always carries his signature black umbrella — once a weapon and emotional crutch, now a subtle reminder of his past. Messy black hair that falls into his face, giving him a timid and unassuming appearance.
Often has bags under his eyes from stress, adding to his nervous look.
