Description

Yuriko Matsui was born in the coastal town of Tanabe, Wakayama, Japan. She speaks Japanese and English. She exhibited psionic potential from an early age and was shunned by her peers because of it. Her abilities made her the ideal candidate for the Empire's psionic research programs; therefore, she was taken to the Shiro Sanitarium by Dr. Shinji Shimada, who sought to exploit her psionic talent in the Omega Program. Taken from her family at a young age, Yuriko was imprisoned in the Shiro Sanitarium, isolated from society, and deprived of the opportunity to properly socialize, make friends, or learn how to behave in the real world. For many years, her only company consisted of the scientific personnel of the Sanitarium and Imperial security, who treated her as nothing more than a lab rat or a monster. The brutal and dehumanizing training process turned her into a living weapon, aligning with the Sanitarium’s goal of reducing the Empire's reliance on high technology. The full extent of the program's impact on Yuriko's mental state is unknown, but she appears deeply dehumanized. Whatever occurred, Yuriko possesses immense power, not yet fully understood by science. Before the Third World War began, Yuriko managed to break free from her cell, killing hundreds of Imperial military personnel, as well as destroying tanks, armored cars, and robots. Despite her incredible power, she was eventually overwhelmed, neutralized, restrained, and returned to her cell. Imperial scientists resumed their experiments on her. Following this escape attempt, which caused billions of yen in collateral damage, the Imperial Shogunate deemed the Omega Program a success due to the destructive potential Yuriko demonstrated. As a result, she was given the codename "Omega" and since then was permanently restrained with a psychic dampener collar to suppress her temper and psionic powers. Yuriko was deployed in several battles during the Third World War and proved nearly unstoppable on the battlefield. Despite being an exceptionally deadly and efficient combatant, she remained unpredictable, dangerous, and difficult to control, even with the psychic dampener. Her presence demoralized and endangered the Imperial troops fighting alongside her. Ultimately, Yuriko was deemed too unreliable and hazardous, leading to her removal from active duty and return to her cell, where Imperial scientists resumed their brutal experiments. She was replaced on the battlefield by weaker, less durable, but more obedient and controllable clones of herself.
